Mushroom and Taro Congee with XO Sauce
You’ll definitely be impressed with its taro fragrance and umami from shiitake mushrooms if you try this dish. What’s more, adding a little amount of selected XO sauce will exponentially layer the flavors and textures. If you want to taste the congee of happiness, you must try this recipe!
Instructions:
1. Wash the rice. Soak 7 shiitake mushrooms in water. Prepare half of taro and a small dish of selected XO sauce.
2. When the mushrooms become softer, take them out and slice them, including the stems. Dice the taro. Add the mushrooms and taro to the cleaned rice.
3. Mix well. Add some salt. Put all the ingredients into the rice cooker, and select the “congee” button.
4. The congee will be done after one and a half an hour. Mix well.
5. Pour the congee into a bowl and add a teaspoon of selected XO sauce on top. You can also mix the sauce with congee. The mushroom and taro congee with XO sauce is ready to serve.
